Dear Foundation Supporters,

While the last year has been a challenging time for many, we look forward to continuing our efforts to support the White Bear Lake community. This Fall we awarded over $1,500 in Ryan Family Fund Art Grant monies. We have been actively attending Staff Appeal events and working alongside community members to provide funds to students in need. We will be announcing the 2021 Brosious Teaching Grant recipients in the coming weeks and we're looking forward to seeing you at our annual BEAR Legacy Fundraiser coming up February 12, 2022. Be sure to watch for updates!

In addition, I would like to welcome Sydney Ruedy, our new Office Administrator! Sydney comes to us with over 11 years in office administrative, project coordination, and marketing work and volunteer experience. We look forward to working with Sydney as we continue to improve and enhance our efforts to support the community.

Eugene H. and Joye C. Schutte Family Fund
We're thrilled to announce a new scholarship! The Eugene H. and Joye C. Schutte Family Fund will award two $2,000 scholarships annually to two students for post-secondary education, one who will be attending UW River Falls and one who will be attending Mankato State University. Both must plan to pursue a degree in Education.

It is an important time of the year for us; time to connect with you, the esteemed educators in our district! Staff Appeal contributions play a significant role in our ability to fund opportunities. We value your generosity and work hard to help provide excellence in education for ALL of your students.

The Closet Wish List
As need continues to increase, WBLAEF's Closet continues to serve as a designated space in the district, providing district students in need with a space to shop for clothing needs for free. We are able to offer this to our students due to the generous donations from the community.

Items especially needed at this time:
  • Coats: K-5
  • Boots: K-5
  • Waterproof mittens: K-5
  • Girls warm leggings and tops: K-5 through middle school
  • Boys warm athletic pants and tops: K-5 through middle school
  • New socks & underwear: all ages
